Let's Talk Modesty

Hello readers!
Alright, this is a topic I've been a little intimidated by, but due to the popular request, I'll address it.
I (as you already know) am a Catholic, and I attend an SSPX chapel, and there are lots of rules about modesty; however, I do not agree with everything that is deemed 'modest' or 'immodest.' I believe that modesty is not a 'one size fits all' situation, and I do not have the time to address modesty for everyone, but I will just share my view on it and some ways I try to dress and act modestly (with picture examples)
What is Modesty?
Modesty is twofold: How you dress and how you conduct yourself.
Firstly, the way you speak is greatly tied to modesty. Curse words, profanity and gossip are all forms of immodest speech and behaviour. Modesty does involve a level of discretion and prudence when it comes to your speech.
Modesty in the way you dress is all about dressing with dignity and respect for your body and others. Wearing a revealing top and booty shorts is not what I would call modest. As Catholic we believe that our bodies are temples of the Holy Ghost and we should clothe ourselves in a way that honours that, makes us feel confident, and shows our femininity.
(I will make a whole other post on femininity because it deserves its own moment, not a brief mention.)
I also believe that modesty is contextual. For example, a mini dress to the grocery store is not what I would call modest; however, wearing that same dress to the beach is significantly more modest, because of where you are.
Examples.
Below I have some images from my Pinterest boards of my favourite modest looks! :)

I'll be sure to add to this as time goes on but this is all the time I have for now!
Take care dear readers,
Maya
